Louisa Mackintosh
My Background
I am a Sonoma County Native who has transitioned a few times between my rural roots and urban environments. I am grateful to be home and contributing to my community through therapeutic work. I am an Ally, with particular sensitivity to identities and populations that are systemically and socially unallowed/unexpected to take up the same amount of space and value as others.
I have a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sonoma State University as well as a Bachelors of Arts in Feminist Studies from UC Santa Cruz. My choice to become a therapist was the culmination of a winding and entrepreneurial path. Experiences revealed a consistent focus on and appreciation for human connection, a collaborative, improvisational, and non-judgmental style of interaction, and a deep interest in the human experience. I currently work in both private practice and community mental health settings, with additional training in suicide prevention and crisis response.
